[gameprogrammer] Re: Are AO games bad for CVs?

Title: Message
My first published game was Cover Girl Strip Poker :) and yes, I had it on my CV but I think I removed it (years since I looked at my CV), just too old now.

As Robbert said, not all you do have to go on the CV, if you do get to a job interview then you get a chance to check the people and then decide if it should be mentioned or not.

One reason to accept the offer would be to get more practice and to learn, one step closer to the real games business.

Oh, and make sure that only people you know sees what you are working on, I mean, with SM graphics you might not want your parents or friends to see it, just imagine:

Friend: What the hell is that on your screen?

Dirso: That is what I'm working with

Friend: You are doing WHAT.. working with SM

Guess you know what I mean :-)

Cheers,
Sam

Subject: [gameprogrammer] Are AO games bad for CVs?

Hi,

An adult site, SM stuff, offered me some really nice money for a simple game, not bloddy, and I’m considering to make it. Since this would be the first game with my name on it and since I’m really serious about getting into game business I would like to ask the professionals here: Should I accept the offer?

It’s not about money, since I have a nicely well paid part time job. But that’s something I could in my free time, quickly, nice payment, nice number of users and it’s not agains my religion (hehe). I WON’T do it just for the money, I would do it ONLY if I can use it on my CV.

What do you think? A nice game studio would reject my CV if I put a game like this into my application?

Thanks,

Dirso
