I'm referring to the number of fields of the structure that you use.  Like
DX will often have you create a structure with 20 fields of which you set 2,
and then pass the address of that to a function.  According to code complete
that function should instead just take those 2 parameters.

I think this refers to passing structures, not address of structures which
DX passes.

It's still that way :)

I was reading Code Complete, published by Microsoft Press, and it says not
to pass structures unless every parameter is used, unless you are at 12+
used parameters if you didn't use that struct.  So they violate the
programming principles of even a book they published.
