Hey,

 

Steve Tranby here.  I just wanted everyone to know that I've been gone skiing in CO for the last 5 days and I haven't been able to read or respond to emails.  I want to cover a few things:

 

1) Topica Game Dev Group ML

        Anyone who wants to be apart of the email list specifically for the game please respond by sending an email to:

        Rob Quills and I are the two list owners and moderators.

 

2) Website

 

        If you're wondering where the website ask Kev Fields (I don't mean to bring the burden on him).  I'm going to be co-creating the website with him, but he's going to be the one in charge.  I'm going to try and get him to post the site up and update it because the site he gave me doesn't work at the moment.  We will be working as hard as possible to get a working site with enough features to be useful. 

 

3) Status of the group

 

        I'm very glad to see Rob taking charge as well as all the others who have responded and participated in the discussions and deciding how we are going to get this game working.

 

4) My profile: (mainly for Rob's list)

 What I want to do:  I would love to help out with the following

-- Programming (Core,Graphics,Network, AI, Sound, etc.)

-- Graphics (Artwork for game)

-- Some sound and music (Midi Style)

-- Game Programming Aspect (DirectX)

 

 What skills I have (why you should put me there):

-- I can program fluently in VB6 and Pretty well in VC++6 (C and C++)

-- I've learned DirectX7 and I'm learning DirectX8 for both VB and C++

-- I've created two full games (well not quite to the finish, but working like a real game)

-- I'm very interested in game programming and want to be apart of the projects core (the code)

-- I'm pretty artistic and I've taken Drawing and Design(Photoshop Class) as well as some other art classes.

-- I work well with others, but I'm even better working on something myself (meaning I can participate and work as a group on this project, but I also can be given a task and get it done)

 

5) Let's have some fun and start seeing some results to keep us interested.
