I know
you can get Acedemic Versions of software such as Photoshop and 3D Studio
Max, however they are still relatively expensive. Around $200-400 I
think. I'm not positive though. If I were you I would just search
the internet. I'm sure you could find some either cheap ones or free ones
out there, I know I have before. They are obviously less powerful, but
they might still serve your needs.
I
guess if you really want to learn 3D programming and you might become a
professional in it or at least get paid for it then I'd suggest getting 3D
Studio Max 3 (the latest revision) because that will fall in price now
that 3D Studio Max Discrete (or something to that name -it's version 4) is
coming out.

Hi all,
I have jsut bought a boolk called "[digital]
Character Animation 2", but I need some 3D animation software that is cheap
and good. Is it possible to get 3D Studio Max with a student liscence?? If not
can you recomend some good, cheap 3D animation software.
