[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Re: I'll start the ball rolling then
I, too, have found DirectX quite impossible to understand. So, I picked up a book called Visual C++ 6.0 Unleashed. I find that reading this book clarifies parts of source code for DirectX programs. However, it might not be enough. I eventually went searching on the net for DirectX tutorials, and I came across someone's set of bookmarks, containing some tutorials and links to DirectX sites. I hope this could be helpful to you. http://www.dms.umontreal.ca/~boily/ regards, Kevin Fields ----- Original Message ----- From: "m" <mike@futura.com> To: <gameprogrammer@gameprogrammer.com> Sent: Thursday, November 30, 2000 4:56 AM Subject: I'll start the ball rolling then On Tue, 28 Nov 2000, Matt Harmon wrote: > im not bothered, just trying to understand why people are on this list > because i have been subscribed for a couple weeks and all it has gotten > is a couple trivial questions and that is it -- very dead list with not > much happening. >snip< Ok then, I'll start. I am a complete beginner with no knowledge of game architecture or construction. There must be a few of us around? Can anyone give some good advice as to how it all works? A particularly burning question I have is to do with Directx. How the hell do you start with it? cheers Mike Fridlington IT Manager Futura Interactive Ltd 1-5 Clerkenwell Road London EC1M 5PA T +44 [0]20 7608 1616 F +44 [0]20 7608 1605 www.futura.com ================================================================= The GameProgrammer.Com mailing list is for the open discussion of any topic related to the art, science, and business of programming games.
