AI

Just one small suggestion. I reckon that once you get an algorithm for the computer learning offensive/defensive techniques, you should teach it some yourself first, and let it build on those. If you leave it to some players, the PC will learn to hit many keys over and over again with little real thought to timing or technique.

Just my 1.5 cents ;^)

Why don't you guys stop crying, and talk about game programming instead
-- geesh.

The AI topic is an excellent one.

I am interested in adding AI to a network 3-d character hand-to-hand
fighting game. There are computer opponents, and I wish them to learn
from the players and come up with better offensive/deffensive
techniques.

Let's open this for discussion and try to generate a decent flow
chart and/or algorithm.

Regards,
m

Being someone who has been programming for the majority of his life. I
object to this, I am a 'real' programmer and have the certificates to
prove
this. There are a hundred times better programmers than me on this list
and
many devote a lot of time and effort into helping the others on this
mailing
list including me.

Before you denegrate this entire list, maybe you should spare a thought
and
reconsider.

Tom.
