 Try starting out you programming quest by learning and
using DarkBasic.  You can get it at www.darkbasic.com. 
After you have become adept at using darkbasic(made a few
mini-games of your own in it)  start learning C++ as soon as
you can.  You can get tutorials in basic C++ programmin at
cplus.about.com, and you can find links to hundreds of pages
with game programming tutorials using C++ and Direct X, at
the game development seach engine(www.gdse.com)
