 DJGPP is GAY? I suppose you could do better yourself if you
had the time.  You might as well write graphics and drivers
better than Allegro's for DOS too.  Nick came right out and
said that he was new and DOS is a good place to start
because Allegro lets you learn the techniques without having
to worry about complicated stuff like detecting a sound
card.  He'll get to windows programming someday but not if
you laugh at him. "Get some books on DirectDraw and
DirectSound"? What kind of advice is that?  What if you said
something like :

"Andre LaMothe has written a buncha books on the subject,
and one of them 'Tips and Tricks of the Windows Game
Programming Gurus' comes with a demo for VC++ 6.0 and
DirectX developer stuff.  See his website at xgames3d.com!"
