 I am interested in getting into game programming over the
summer and I am looking for a good book that shows the
basics of 2D game programming with a bit of 3D thrown in.  I
can program in C and openGL, but I need some firm pointers. 
I am hoping to aviod directX programming for a while.  Any
suggestions would be helpful
