Pascal is still a good language for games and here(http://www.cs.vu.nl/~jprins/tp.html) is a page that covers allot, you might even find a newer compiler in there somewhere. Personally I'm trying to learn C++, but this is mainly for the fun of it. hope that helps Derold ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sr. Díaz Untiveros" <sr.diaz@ronaldsmail.com> To: <GameProgrammer@gameprogrammer.com> Sent: Wednesday, September 06, 2000 6:45 PM Subject: About Languages... I'm new in the bussines... the last "game" I made was in '91 in an ancient version of Turbo Pascal. I always thought there were just one MAYOR languaje. A great "game maker" of the games I played in Nintendo, Sega, Neo Geo and all that consoles. Like Word for text, you know. I Decided to take the hobbie again and when I found you guys I've got a shock. I don't know were to begin, you know... they're too many languajes... and what's a "library"... man, i'm still stunned. So, where to begin?, where to learn?... What do you recomend me? I would love to make fight games like the arcade classic Double Dragon, or Street Fighter (remember when we were kids?). What languaje do you recomend.. and if there's a book to learn it, where to buy it? Hope you can clear the blur.
