the below page has several links to directx programming and tutorial.  I'm not sure if this is what you meant but it wouldn't hurt to give it a try.

right now I'm working through opengl tutorials and tryiing to learn c at the same time, i'll probably do some directx later so if you do try these let me know how they are.
