Download BeOS 5 Personal Edition: http://free.be.com and look for a 'striped
harddisk' filesystem add-on, at http://beware.com. I haven't tried it
because I have no need for it, but the documentation says it has no maximum
file size, and allows much greater recording bandwidth (640x480 16 bit at
30fps uncompressed). It accomplishes this by ignoring all data structures:
no FAT, no partitions: it writes/reads raw data to/from the harddisk
directly.
And, if you have a compatible video capture device:
http://www.be.com/support/guides/beosreadylist_intel.html, you won't need
Linux or Windows :)

PS.: My ISP messed up my mailbox, and I was able to read my mail only
recently!
