I love old school FX

 If I wanted a random 3d texture like the bouncing lines screen saver
 combined with the waving flag screen saver, would there be any way to do
 something of that nature without slaughtering my frame rate.  I've tried
and
 failed.  I'm thinking like an acid flashback skin for a Quake type
character
 model.
