Hello All, I'm new to the list, first time poster, loooong time gamer (yes, I remember when pong came out and when the Atari 2600 "ruled"). I just wanted to agree with Tim. I don't believe that 3D spawned the explosion of gamers but rather the proliferation of PC in the household did. This is not to mention the console platforms that have taken off. (Playstation sold over 3 million units last Christmas season). I know many people who prefer a 2D game to 3D ones. Personally, I am torn between the 3D shooters (Half-Life, Descent3) and the tile-based strategy games that are definitely 2D (Civ.2, Alpha Centauri). Each dimension has its place in the gaming world just as each game type has its place and I don't expect to see 2D games leave us any time soon. In fact, I still enjoy text-based MUDs and such! Give the ol' imagination a work-out! ;~) Take care and play hard, Chris Christopher Artrip Engineering Technician/Programmer Nova Engineering, Inc.
