[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Re: windows/dos games
To be honest it's not for a game. I just didn't want to be off-topic. However, I am interested in general windows programming, and I have seen dual-mode programs (like scandisk) where the same program can be run from both dos and windows, and it adapts to whatever environment it's under. I'm wondering how I would write and compile a program that will do different things under different environments. ----- Original Message ----- From: Marc Hernandez <marc@ias.jb.com> To: <gameprogrammer@gameprogrammer.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 11, 2000 8:50 PM Subject: Re: windows/dos games > On Tue, 11 Jan 2000, Neato wrote: > > > I want to write a game that can be run under both win and dos, but when run > > under win is able to take advantage of the api. can anyone give any general > > info on this topic? > > Abstract your operations, then write seperate libs for each > platform. > Or use allegro. > > The real question is why? > > -- > Marc Hernandez > > ================================================================= > The GameProgrammer.Com mailing list is for the open discussion > of any topic related to the art, science, and business of > programming games.
