the problem is the year 0 , not 1900 to 1999
the year they start counting (Anno dommini) after the christ's birth
they start counting from 1 ,  as normal people that time do not bother
about anything called a zero or nothing , so thay say first yeat of our
lord , second year , etc. so at year 99 it was only 99 years not 100
so the problem presists uptill now

I disagree.

The 20th century was from 1900-1999 just like the first century was from
0-99, the second from 100-199. The second century started when the first
finished. That's why we are in the 21st century now.
