[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] RE: OpenGL and Direct Draw
Well, my point was a little obscure. I was thanking Carmak for not porting to Direct3D because it somewhat pushes the industry to continue developing decent drivers for OpenGL. I don't have anythng against DirectX, but I'd like to be able to choose between the two, and maybe I want to write a game for Linux. Also, this wasn't to say anything about Carmak, except that the clout of Quake and its OpenGL exclusivity are helping OpenGL remain a viable option in Game programming. This has nothing to do with your comment. --> Sorry but Carmack is the Bill Gates of the Games Industry. --> If Carmack said it is just the true and only the true, eh? --> The Quake isn't the best 3D engine.
