[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Re: looping messages
To quote Chief Engineer Montogomery Scott: "Once is bad luck, twice is coincidence, but three times is enemy action." After blocking the offending site at the main server (we return a 553 error code which is sendmail-ish for "Go away and don't come back") there was approximately 12 hours of peace and then the echoed messages returned but relayed through a secondary MX host. Received: from fararayaneh.com by ns2.jump.net ([194.225.42.70]) Unless the mailer at the originating site is horribly broken this can't be happening accidentally. (You fall back to secondary MX iff the primary doesn't respond, not if it tells you to get lost.) I've blocked them at ns2 also, and if they circumvent this as well I'll have the network guys block them at the border router. BTW, I'm not a list administrator. I'm just a list member who happens to work for the ISP the list is hosted on, and I don't like a full mailbox any more than the rest of you :-) ================================================================= The GameProgrammer.Com mailing list is for the open discussion of any topic related to the art, science, and business of programming games.
