Actually I started out with Visual Basic 2.0 and moved on to C++ when I hit
the ceiling on what whas possible with VB (no pointer calculations &
callbacks). Learning VB helped me a lot to get used to working with classes
and programming with ATL later on.

Oh, and *never* buy any books from QUE, they aren't any good (IMO).
