[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Re: GP: Ellipsiod graphics programming
I'm sorry to say, but this may be a flawed idea... If you plan to cater to the 3D gods, and use 3D accelerators, then you may have quite a while to wait, as (I believe, I could be so totally and completely wrong here as to make me feel embarassed) that the accelerators can only deal in polygons ::shrug::. I believe that ID created a similar algorithm, but instead of drawing an _actual_ curve they simply made the object into polygons, while taking into account how many polygons should be used to make a realistic curve as compared to how big the object is on the screen. Download Quake III and you will see what I mean. I haven't noticed any actual curves, only many-polygon based "wannabe" curves. I could be wrong on all accounts... don't take my word for any of this. :) Hope this help -Mythic >Hey guy!! > >Does anybody know were I can find information on 3D ellipsiod mathematics >and graphics programming?
