Hello!! Here's what skills we look for in people that apply to Ubi Soft Entertainment: Knowing how to code in 10 different languadges is great( especially ASM ), but not enough. The one thing that every game company is looking for when highering is your math skills. If you want to make a demo for a company that you want to apply to, you definetly want to show off your math skills. The second thing is imagination!! Anyone can learn how to make a 3D, bumped, quadratic textured mapped cube with real time lighting a volumetric shadows, but very few can dream a good game. The above, offcource, depend on what kind of a position you are applying for, but one thing that every position requires a person to have is the ability to work well in team. I hope this helps, Chris Gripeos Info Designer Ubi Soft Entertanment( New York ) cgripeos@ny.ubisoft.com P.S. Please excuse any grammar or spelling errors. I've been programming for too long. It feels like the wheel in my head is still spinning, but the hamster is dead. >From: "Mike Fawn" <mfawn@Hotmail.com> >Reply-To: gameprogrammer@gameprogrammer.com >To: gameprogrammer@gameprogrammer.com >Subject: GP: GameProgrammer: What do you need to know. >Date: Wed, 01 Sep 1999 05:55:11 PDT > >I just wanted to find out what you really need to know to be a game coder. >I'm learning DirectX D3DIM using Visual C++ for a 3D game I'm trying to >write.
