Matt, Yes! The gif animation application of your choice does what I'm talking about for gifs. The same is true of intraframe compression for video, etc. What I want to be able to do is have an app which takes a batch of bitmaps and returns a different batch of clipped bitmaps. I've actually just spent the afternoon starting to code such a utility, and it's just written its first few bytes out successfully.
